President
Shadi Abu-Halimah
Dr. Shadi Abu-Halimah is a Professor of Surgery at West Virginia University and a vascular and endovascular surgeon dedicated to patient care, medical education, and community service.
A member of the local Muslim community since 2003, he previously served as Treasurer for five years and now serves as President of the Executive Committee of the Islamic Association of West Virginia. He enjoys organizing community gatherings and youth programs at the masjid and is married to Sara Habboub; together they have four beautiful children, all of whom attend the masjid’s Islamic school.

Asma Yousaf
Asma Yousaf has been a member of the local Muslim community for over 30 years. A CPA by profession and mother of three sons, she has watched her family grow and build strong connections within the masjid.
She is honored to serve as Vice President of the Islamic Association of West Virginia and to give back to the community that has meant so much to her family.
Yunusah B. Mohammed, an Associate Director for Food and Nutrition Services, moved to the South Charleston community from Ghana, West Africa at a young age and has been an active member of the local Muslim community for many years. He currently serves as Secretary of the Islamic Association of West Virginia, where he helps coordinate mosque activities, community events, communication, and administrative efforts.
Through his leadership and community involvement, he supports the organization’s mission of religious service, education, interfaith dialogue, and community outreach.

Mohamad Badawi
Mohamad Badawi has been an active member of the IAWV community for over 15 years and currently serves as Treasurer on the Executive Committee, where he helps support the organization’s financial planning, fiscal responsibility, and continued growth.
Community service is an important value for his family, with his wife serving on the IAWV school board and their children attending the local Islamic school. He is proud to support the mission of the Islamic Center and remains committed to strengthening and serving the community.
